“Sound of Music” Auditions
Seeking energetic and vibrant performers, ages 7 and up!
WHEN: Tuesday, April 19, 6:30-9:00 p.m. or Saturday, April 23, 9:00-noon. Audition appointments close at 4 p.m. for Tuesday April 19 and for Saturday they will close Friday at 11 p.m.
WHERE: High Valley Arts Studio, 210 East Main Street, Midway, Utah.
DOWNLOAD THE AUDITION PACKET: Download the Audition Packet by clicking HERE. Fill it out and bring it to your audition.
WHAT TO PREPARE: Sing a 16-measure selection in the style of “Sound of Music”. Bring sheet music for an accompanist to play. No a capella auditions, please.
MAKE AN AUDITION APPOINTMENT: Send an email HERE requesting an audition appointment.
Please include your name, age if under 21, email and phone number.
Suggest which days and approximate times work for you.
Also include any other pertinent information. You will receive an email with an audition time which you may adjust via return email.
REHEARSE WITH A PIANIST IN ADVANCE: No longer available. All openings have been taken.
CHOREOGRAPHY: You will be asked to learn a short choreographed segment during callbacks. Please wear appropriate shoes.
CALLBACKS: April 26 & 27, various times.
CALLBACK PROCEDURE: If you are selected for callbacks, you will see that information on this site by Sunday night, April 24, at 10 p.m. On the callback list will be information telling you the roles for which you are being considered and the time for your callback. Once callbacks are posted, the website will have songs and lines available for download for you to use to prepare for your callback. You need not memorize either the music or the lines.
REHEARSALS: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 6-9:30 p.m. Saturdays 9-1 p.m. Beginning May 23, rehearsals will also be held on Mondays from 6-9:30 p.m. Kids will rehearse from 4-5:30 Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 3-17, at 372 Fox Den Road.
FIRST CAST MEETING: Saturday, April 30, 9 am. You will receive your script, a schedule, information about What’s App, and be measured for costumes.
PERFORMANCES: July 1, 2, 6 through 16 at 8:15 p.m. No performances on Sundays.
All regular rehearsals will be held at the High Valley Arts’ Studio – 210 East Main Street, Midway (please enter from the back entrance stairs leading down to the basement). For more info, please call or text (801)228-8956.

REHEARSE WITH A PIANIST IN ADVANCE: Those who make appointments can rehearse without charge 10 minutes with a pianist before your audition. If you’re interested, send an email requesting a rehearsal time by clicking HERE. Please note in the email the days which work best for you. You will be assigned a time before your audition which you may adjust as needed, depending on what remaining times are available. A limited number of rehearsal slots will be available and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
