What Happens Next
1. Accept Your Role
All cast members must complete the Cast Acceptance Form by Friday March 20th by 6 pm to confirm participation in the production. You can find the Form Link Here
2. Submit Your Headshot/Bio
All cast members must submit a headshot and 75 words or less bio to Kayrena Betts by email at kayrenab@gmail.com or text 253-268-6565
3. Mandatory Cast Meeting
Our first full cast meeting will be held:
Date: Tuesday March 24
Time: 6 pm
Location: High Valley Arts Studio (210 E. Main St. Midway, UT in the Old Swiss Square)
At this meeting we will:
Meet the production team
Distribute important production information
Measure you for a costume
- Sing/speak through some or all of the show
Review rehearsal expectations
4. Rehearsal Schedule
Rehearsals will begin the week of March 24. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be shared via WhatsApp, you will be added and invited upon acceptance
Please note that conflicts submitted at auditions will now be considered final unless previously discussed with the production team.
5. Production Communication
Important updates, rehearsal materials, music, and schedules will be shared through WhatsApp. Please watch for additional information coming soon.

Our goal in casting The Little Mermaid was to build the strongest possible company to tell this story. Many factors influence casting decisions, including rehearsal availability, vocal and acting qualities, suitability for the character, and ensemble balance. Because of this, casting decisions do not always align with the roles performers may have hoped for. We deeply appreciate the time, preparation, and courage it takes to audition, and we hope to see many of you again at future High Valley Arts productions.
Regarding Casting Decisions
Because casting involves many factors and thoughtful discussion by the directing team, we are not able to provide individual audition feedback. We appreciate every performer who shared their talents with us and hope to see you again at future auditions.
Parent & Guardian Information
- Volunteer expectations: Parents are encouraged to help with costumes, set, or front-of-house
- Communication: Updates via WhatsApp Group
- Code of conduct: We create a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. Backbiting, unkindness, or disrespect will not be tolerated
We are committed to a safe and respectful environment for all performers.
Rehearsal Commitment
Conflict policy: All known conflicts must be listed on the conflict calendar; any absences not listed will require Director approval, with the understanding that true emergencies happen and should be communicated as soon as possible. Punctuality: Rehearsals will start on time, and being “on time” means arriving at least 5 minutes early and ready to work. Rehearsal Conduct: When not on stage, watch quietly, avoid side conversations, and be respectful by not speaking while a director is giving instructions. If you must communicate please go in the hallway. Be a supportive, encouraging audience for your fellow performers and create a focused, positive rehearsal environment.
