“A Christmas Carol, the Musical” Auditions

Seeking energetic and vibrant performers, ages 8 and up!

Synopsis:
Ebeneezer Scrooge is a prosperous curmudgeon who believes that personal wealth is far more valuable than the happiness and comfort of others. With an infuriated “Bah! Humbug!” Scrooge summarizes his feelings of Christmas tidings and charitable giving, but he’s forced to face his selfish ways when three ghosts on Christmas Even lead him through his Past, Present and Future.Thanks to their guidance, Scrooge recognizes his faults and greets Christmas morning with a cheerful “Happy Christmas” before spending the day reconnecting and sharing love with those that mean the most to him.

  • Please prepare approximately 16 bars of a song in the style of the show.
  • Bring your sheet music — an accompanist will be provided.
  • You may also sing to phone track if preferred.

CALLBACKS

Monday, September 8 — Starting at 6:00 p.m.

  • The Callback list will be posted by 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 6.
  • Callback sheet music and accompaniment tracks will be available on this website on or before August 30th,  and can be used to rehearse in preparation for callbacks.

CALLBACK PROCEDURE

  • The callback list will include the roles you are being considered for and your callback time.
  • You may be asked to do cold readings with other actors during the callback process.
  • Memorization of music and lines is not required.
  • Choreography will be part of the callback — please wear appropriate shoes.

REHEARSALS

FIRST CAST MEETING

  • Friday, September 12 – 6-8 p.m. – High Valley Arts Studio
    Meet the production team, receive your script, schedule, and WhatsApp information and do a partial run-through of the show.
  • Costume measurements will be taken.

PERFORMANCES

December 13–23

  • No performances on Sundays or Tuesdays.
