"The Sound of Music"
The hills of Midwere were alive with "The Sound of Music." Presented in the natural amphitheater of Zermatt Resort and Spa, theatergoers enjoyed an outdoor supper before the show and watched a full moon rise over the stage. Dr. Karl T. Pope, retired BYU Professor of Theater, specially designed the stage to add to the perfect setting for this well-beloved show. Below are a few of our favorite moments.
Sister Margaretta, the Mother Abbess, Sisters Berthe and Sophia
pray for "the flibberty-gibbet" Maria who just doesn't seem to fit into Abbey life.
Maria teaches"Do-Re-Mi" to the von Trapp children --their first song.
Liesl is madly in love with Rolf. Here they dance and sing to "Sixteen Going on Seventeen."
Max Detweiller and Elsa Schraeder dance and sing to "How Can Love Survive?"
Maria and the Captain diiscover their love and sing "Something Good" to each other.
The von Trapp family is complete now that Maria has joined the family.
