Annie, December 2010

Eighty-nine little girls auditioned for the coveted role of "Annie" in October, 2010. Out of that group of extremely talented girls came Annie, six orphans, and seven orphan dancers.

The show played to rave reviews, some a bit overblown, i.e. "You wouldn't see a better show on Broadway!" The audience was responding to the "dream cast," said Sue Waldrip, director. Every show after the first night was a sell out.

The orphans really got into it when singing "Hard Knock Life" bemoaning their fate as forgotten children under cruel Miss Hannigan.

Hard Knock Life

Hannigan, her sleazy brother Rooster and Lily St. Regis, his floozy girlfriend, sang "Easy Street" with such high-octane energy, that it set the tone for the entire show.

Annie, Rooster, and Lily

Annie finds it hard to believe she is actually outside the orphanage and seeing the sights in New York City for the first time in the NYC Dance number.
